It’s that time of year again; festivals are about to kick off all over the UK. This weekend some of the OTR team are braving the rain & heading to Parklife, with this in mind our team have been trolling Pinterest for festival inspiration and picking out their favourite pieces from our Festival Collection.
We asked our Styling Assistant, Senior Buyer & Social Media Executive to share their inspiration & the pieces they will be wearing to Parklife this weekend.
Styling Assistant, Kate.
“I am taking the practical approach to Parklife this year, I have heard the weather is going to suck & I am an avid music fan so I don’t want to miss my favourite act due to rain, thunder, sleet or snow. If you, like me, still want to look nice while staying dry the same time the only thing you should be donning is our Clear Matte Finish Rain Mac because its clear you can still wear all those amazing prints and not ruin them with a bulky jacket. My style is very much influenced by the runway, so my inspiration pictures might not fit the festival vibe completely but I like to interpret the runway looks into my everyday life”

Social Media Executive, Lauren.
“It’s festival season, which means it the one time of year I get to full on get my boho on. I am going all out for Parklife, I might even wear flowers in my hair..I don’t care if they get soaked. Matching Florals & Crochet does that not scream festival to you? When I saw that we had the kimono to match these shorts I knew I had to have them, the same with this Cream Crochet Bandeau. I think with the rain I will have to don my wellies but I don’t mind, I kind of like that girly floaty look against some chunky wellies”

Senior Buyer, Sal
“I struggle when it comes to festival attire, I tend to be a little bit more polished than the typical festival goer. I’m the girl checking her hair in the mirror after 10 minutes in the queue, actually I might even wear my rollers until I get near the front. We have an amazing floral collection on the site at the minute so I feel the need to represent all us girly girls in some florals. I am going to be wearing our Pink Floral Crop & Shorts on the Sunday, the weather is meant to pick up a bit on the Sunday & play its safe with our Neon Bright Playsuit on Saturday. Pardon the Pun.”

Are you off to any festivals this summer? What are your festival fashion must haves? let us know below!
Shorts can be a nice change to always wearing a skirt, dress or jeans. They are a summer staple and we are bringing you three very different looks.
1.Holiday Night Time Look.
This adorable outfit is perfect for those warm holiday evenings, we love a good boogie while we are on our jollies and we want to look cute and not be over heating. No-one likes a shiny face. These shorts will look super cute on the beach with a black bikini and you can match the top to a nice maxi skirt so the outfit is major versatile.
2. Festival.
Shorts are a festival must have, these distressed acid wash pair are super comfy and have that perfect festival edge. Now although we wish that every festival was during a sunny and dry weekend living in the UK that just does not happen, waterproof shoes and coats are a must have. This clear matte mac protects you from that pesky rain yet adds an edge to your festival look, don’t be seen without it this festival season.
3. Date Night.
This floral two piece is so adorable, we want every night to be date night so we can wear it over and over. Add a simple white cami & matching heels for an effortless yet put together look.
We have an amazing giveaway for all you 1D fans, follow these instructions to be in with the chance to win two tickets to see One Direction!

Our Holiday Shop is looking mighty fine we have a chosen our top five favourite items that we will be packing to take on holiday with us this summer. Jumpsuits & Playsuits are great to take on holiday as they work in the day and night, wear with flipflops and a big bag for a day trip, or some dressy sandals and some statement earrings for an evening meal. Two pieces can be mixed and matched with other holiday basics, wear this sunflower set co-ordinated or separately. We think the crop will look amazing with a flowy black maxi. No summer beach holiday is complete without the trusty kimono, wear it to the beach, when shopping, cover up those shoulders when your out in the sun or to dress up that basic dress.

Vogue’s Anna Wintour called all A List Celebs to bring their A Game to the Red Carpet of this years Met Ball. We noticed a few trends among the celebs. The first was the All Natural tones of dresses from Kendall Jenner, Suki Waterhouse & Taylor Swift, we love this bespoke Topshop dress on Kendall it shows off her teeny tiny waist and the colour is so flattering against her skin. Suki is wearing a custom-made gown by Burberry, this strapless number has a ballerina feel which is set off perfectly with Suki’s messy up do! Taylor Swift donned a blush embellished Oscar De La Renta dress which nips in perfectly at Taylor’s waist and is finished off with a huge bow on the back. Stunning.
We see Teen TV stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Lea Michele sparkling in metallics. Blake going for that big bombshell look with an empire waist and a deep V finished of with 40s inspired curls, could she be any sexier? Gossip Girl on screen bestie Leighton Meester also rocked a plunging neckline Emilio Pucci embellished dress. We love how Leighton has kept her bohemian style even for a red carpet event, stick with what you know we say! The stunning Lea Michelle went for a full on gold with a custom-made Altuzarra spaghetti strap gown, which sits beautiful with her skin tone, Lea also flashed some cleavage with a low V neckline.
It’ll be All White on the night, we saw these three beauties daring to wear white. Charlize’s opted for a beautiful monochrome Dior dress, loving how Charlize added a tuxedo jacket over the top to add an edge to a classic look. Rihanna bravely showed off her midriff in this Stella McCartney top and skirt, this is a controversial look for the Met Ball we still love it mind! Victoria Beckham, can she do any wrong? no, no she can’t. VB wearing her own design looked chic and timeless, her sleek side swept hair kept her whole look sleek and classic.
Think Pink. Who doesn’t love pink? Emma Stone pulled of the mixed tones so well, this Thakoon two piece is both young & classic while Emma’s side braid keeps her look fresh. Reese opted for a sweet heart neckline with a twist, her Stella McCartney gown paired simply with a band around her forearm is simply stunning. Reese has always suited pink ever since her Legally Blonde days. Last but by no means least is the ever beautiful Rachel McAdams in this simple Ralph Lauren floor length column dress. Rachel kept this strapless number simple with a small statement ring and earrings.

We have just introduced the brand new brand Hero’s Heroines to the Own The Runway family; we are slightly obsessed with the concept behind this brand wearing your favourite celebs name like a member of a celebrity football team. We don’t care what you say we love a good fan girl moment and these tees are the ultimate for any Ryan Gosling or Beyonce fan.
These t-shirts are not only amazing but they are so soft, quickly climbing to the top of our lazy day clothing pile. We tend to write off our comfy t-shirts as just casual wear but we think these teams with a PVC pencil skirt and heels will make for the perfect “oh this old thing” outfit.
Now the hard part…are you Team Gosling or Team Mrs Carter? We cannot decide, in fact OTR HQ is split 50/50 on which is tee is the best. Let us know your favourite on Twitter using the hashtags #teamgosling or #teammrscarter.
